Learning to care for the places we share.
“Green Oasis and Codes in Our Schools and Parks” is an EDUKOS project connecting environmental education for pupils with the idea of greener schools and parks. It began in 2020 with financial support from the City of Kragujevac.

Caring for the environment starts with understanding: how the climate changes, why trees matter and what we can do in our own surroundings. Green Oasis created opportunities to explore these topics with pupils through presentations and collaborative workshop activities.
The project included preparation for school workshops and plans for planting trees. The photographs show pupils working in a classroom and a presentation on climate-related topics. Schools and parks were central to the project’s vision as places where learning can connect with caring for shared spaces.
Following preparatory activities, workshops began in October 2020. Classroom work and presentations formed part of the environmental education activities.
The report scheduled tree planting for 4 November 2020, with flexibility to change the date in case of rain or adverse weather.
Cooperation was established with the secondary vocational Forestry School in Kraljevo, which was expected to donate tree saplings according to the report.
The project was organised by the Kragujevac citizens’ association “Education, Art, Culture, Learning, Sport” — EDUKOS. Miloš Milosavljević led the project and also served as the association’s representative.
The City of Kragujevac provided RSD 70,000 for the project. Cooperation with the Forestry School in Kraljevo was intended to support the planned planting by providing saplings.
Workshop preparations took longer because of changes to school routines and the adjustments required of pupils and teachers. Activities originally planned for September therefore began in October. The epidemic situation and parents’ concerns about additional time at school affected attendance. Online workshops and presentations were envisaged as a backup option.
